How to Apply

Secondary school admissions to Great Wyrley Academy are handled by Staffordshire County Council (who also arrange appeals).

For in year admissions, please contact the school directly by emailing info@greatwyrley.windsoracademytrust.org.uk. For an application form click here

Year 7 Admissions

You will be contacted directly by the council to apply for a place in Year 7 and can apply online or by completing a paper application form. The council will then contact you in March to inform you which school your child has been allocated to.

After place allocation and appeals are heard, Staffordshire County Council operate a waiting list for places for one academic year from September in Year 7.

Applications from Walsall 

We welcome applicants from out of borough and a number of our current students have joined from the Walsall borough. To apply for a place at Great Wyrley Academy if you are from Walsall you must do so through the Walsall Council application portal found on the button below:

In-year admissions

If you would like to apply for a place after the admissions deadline has passed, you can apply for an in-year admission below. 

If you submit an in year application you will receive a response within 10 school days or at the very latest 15 school days.  If your application is unsuccessful you will have a right of appeal to an independent panel.
