We are thrilled to report an outstanding set of exam results for Year 13 students from Great Wyrley Academy - ASPIRE Sixth, part of Windsor Academy Trust, with A Level results improving yet again and students achieving outstanding progress scores.
Students have had to work exceptionally hard to overcome the adversity and lost school time caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; they should be incredibly proud of themselves. The results demonstrate their dedication and commitment to their studies and the academy’s commitment to excellence for all students.
This year 30% of grades were at A*/A, 60% at A*- B and 74% at A*- C. Value added for vocational subjects was +0.80. This marks an exceptional achievement and another outstanding set of results for the academy, which joined Windsor Academy Trust in 2018.
University destinations include, Ted Peacock, who got A* A A, who is going to study Graphic Design at Loughborough; Isabel Beastall, who got Distinction* A A A, who is going to Coventry to study Paediatric nursing; Riley Benton, who got A B B, who is going to study Mathematics at Keele; and Phoebe Beech, who got Distinction* B B, who is going to Birmingham to study Business Management.
Paying tribute to students and staff, Headteacher Ian Moreton said, “These students have had an extremely tough couple of years. Having never sat public exams before - as their GCSE exams were cancelled due to the pandemic - to then produce these results is just exceptional. I am so proud of them all. Everyone at the academy is delighted that the A Level and BTEC results reflect the students’ incredible efforts; they really deserve this. I have to thank the brilliant staff here who have gone above and beyond yet again. We wish all of our students well as they move on to university or their chosen careers.”
