Battlefields Trip 2023 - Day 1

7th November 2023

“A dark & wet very early 4am start to our Battlefields Tour 2023 soon gave way to sunshine & warmth as soon as we landed on the Continent. A drive from Calais to Ypres took us through the landscape of the Western Front from which to begin our 3 days in Belgium.

We spent an absorbing hour looking at the exhibits on display at the In Flanders Fields museum before moving on to the very moving St George’s memorial chapel & a walk through the beautiful old market square to the Menin Gate.  After an early start & a very long day everyone was looking forward very much to arriving at our hotel for dinner & bed.”
