GCSE Results

Outstanding students at Great Wyrley Academy, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are celebrating GCSE success today.
The Year 11 students have received exceptional GCSE results reflecting the hard work and determined effort they put into their studies.
The results also represent the considerable improvements made by the school since joining Windsor Academy Trust in September 2018.
While students across the school achieved incredibly well, standout achievements include:
- Lucas Ewen, who achieved nine GCSEs above Grade 7, including two Grade 9s and two Distinction*s.
- Amelia Chambers, who achieved nine GCSEs above Grade 7, including three Grade 9s and one Distinction*.
- Brandon Ellam, who each achieved nine GCSEs above Grade 7, including one grade 9 and one Distinction*.
Ian Moreton, Headteacher at Great Wyrley Academy, said:
“For these students, the past few years in school – having to cope with the impact of the global pandemic – have been incredibly difficult. All things considered, it has been an exceptional year for Great Wyrley Academy. Year 11 students have shown tremendous maturity and resilience, considering the adversity and uncertainty they’ve had to face. Their results are incredible.
“I am extremely proud of all the students and our brilliant staff who have worked tirelessly, coping so admirably in such difficult circumstances. I want to offer my congratulations to them all. We now look forward to welcoming the students into Aspire Sixth to continue their exceptional success.”
