Empowering Families & Supporting Our Community

We are delighted that Great Wyrley Academy is hosting the ‘Community Family Support Service’ at TheHub@Wyrley.

At the heart of our vision is a commitment to ensuring our families receive the right support, at the right time, in a familiar and friendly place. Through this partnership, parents and carers can access professional, one-to-one advice right here at The Hub.

What is the Community Family Support Service?

Our Community Family Support Service by ‘SCTSP’ provides monthly "Tier 2" family support. We offer friendly practical, hands-on guidance to help families navigate the ups and downs of family life before challenges become overwhelming.

Our resident Family Support Lead at The Hub offers 30-minute, pre-booked sessions designed to give you a warm and safe space to talk, receive guidance, and be connected to the right local resources.

How can these sessions help?

You can book a session to discuss a wide range of topics, including:

  • Parenting Strategies: Support with behaviour and setting family routines.

  • Child Wellbeing: Advice on emotional regulation, sleep, and hygiene.

  • Special Educational Needs: Guidance around neurodiversity.

  • Safety & Stability: Support with finances, housing, and staying safe in the community.

  • Parental Wellbeing: A chance to talk about your own mental and physical health.

Signposting: Connections to Staffordshire Council parenting groups and our own advocacy services through our friendly volunteers at TheHub@Wyrley.

Thursday Appointments

  • When: On Thursday’s each month

  • 2026: 14 May,11 June, 9 July, 3 August, 10 September, 8 October, 12 November, 10 December.

  • 2027: 14 January, 11 February, 11 March.

  • Time: Between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm.

  • Duration: 30 minutes per session.

  • Location: A warm and comfortable private meeting room within The Hub.

How to Book and Attend

To ensure you have dedicated time, we recommend booking your slot in advance.

  1. To Book: Please either email: admin.fss@sctsp.org.uk / call 01902 382288 / or speak with Dani Butcher directly (see below).

  2. Arrival: On the day of your appointment, please buzz in at our main school gates and then sign in at our school reception.

  3. Welcome: Once signed in, Dani - our resident Family Support Lead will welcome you to The Hub and put the kettle on for a cuppa!
