Students at Great Wyrley Academy Celebrate Strong Set of GCSE Results

24th August 2023

Students at Great Wyrley Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results.

After much hard work studying and preparing, students at Great Wyrley Academy, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are collecting a set of strong GCSE results as national grading returns to pre-pandemic levels.

In a year where outcomes, nationally, have returned to 2019 levels, and given some of the disruption seen during the pandemic, the outstanding support provided by the school has enabled students to achieve the necessary outcomes to move onto the destination of their choice.

Subjects that saw particular success include French, Child Development, Music, Digital Information Technology and Business Studies.

Great Wyrley Academy students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions, with many remaining at the school’s Aspire Sixth Form to study for A Levels and vocational qualifications.

While all pupils have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Poppy White who successfully achieved nine GCSEs including a 9 in French and 8s in Science and Maths;
  • Olivia Hickson who successfully achieved nine GCSEs including 8s in Maths, Science and RE;
  • Rebecca Cartwright who successfully achieved nine GCSEs including a 9 in Music.
